To target a specific group of users:
Log in to your Facebook account.
Go to https://www.facebook.com/advertising/ Click on the “Create an Ad” button
Our focus is on targeting, so let’s scroll down to “2. Targeting”.
Example 1: We chose “By Zip Code” and entered “93711.” It shows, on the right, that 4,360 people live in the zip code. You can further refine your target by age, sex, interests, relationship status (interested in men or women, single, in a relationship, engaged, or married), language, education, or work.
Example 2: We set the country to Taiwan. There are 9.6 million Facebook users in Taiwan as of Nov. 1, 2011.
Example 3: Hong Kong. 3.3 million users.
Example 4: China. 440K users.
Example 5: Singapore. 2.1 million users.
Example 6: Suppose you want to target small business owners who use Chinese (either traditional or simplified) and live in the greater China region. According to Facebook, there are 106K of them.
